Warm Springs Biomass Market Solution -Cal's presentation at the InterTribal Timber Council June 2005 Symposium in Visalia, California |
![]() Cal Mukumoto has worked extensively with American Indian Tribes, establishing new markets for timber, managing forest management activities, providing leadership roles in both enterprise and Tribal government turnarounds. He has represented Tribes on regional government committees, provided Congressional testimony, appeared as an expert Federal witness and coordinated national and local studies. Examples of Cal's work for Tribes includes establishment of a domestic and international log-marketing program for a western reservation. Sales from the program created over a 100% uplift over prior log marketing efforts. Cal also served on the Regional Community Economic Revitalization Team (covering the States of Washington, Oregon and California). He received along with other team members the Silver Hammer Award for Reinventing Government from Vice President Al Gore. In 1988, Cal received the Intertribal Timber Council’s Northwest Award for Outstanding Contribution to Indian Forestry. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Makah Forestry Enterprise and has served on enterprise boards for the Quinault and Warm Springs Reservations. |
